Kaylee's 1st Day at FSU

Today was Kaylee's first day of class at Florida State. She only has one class on Monday's so it was an easy first day. So far so good...

We dropped her off eight days ago, so in the meantime she's been focused on trying to meet new people and get familiar with campus. The college ministry, SALT, had activities each night. They had flag football, lawn games, sand volleyball, pickle ball and a movie night. She reconnected with Lauren, a gal she met at orientation, and they have been spending a lot of time together. Her roommate, Veronica has been busy rushing, so hasn't been around much. She also connected with a few other people and many more to come I'm sure. Our college girl is off to a great start!

Game Night

Pre-College Catan

Post College Catan

I love games. Kaylee loves games. Trevor and Trace are willing participants. Kianna hates games. The four of us were playing Settlers of Catan pretty regularly before she left. We miss our Kiki Bear. I think she misses it too. She said she got homesick when we sent her this picture. It's weird not having her around on a daily basis...

Dropping Kaylee Off

Kaylee said her goodbyes to Trace, Kianna and the dogs at home. Then, Trevor, Kaylee and I headed to Tallahassee. We got her all moved into her dorm. She did a great job picking out everything! It turned out so cute! We took her out to dinner Saturday night and then went to City Church with her on Sunday before heading home. Saying goodbye was tough, but we're so excited for her. We know she'll do great. Go Noles!

Birthday Celebration and Boat Day

We got a picture of the pipe that cut Stacie last fall.

We scheduled a boat day with Ohana Cruises. The last time we were on this boat was for Kaylee's birthday when Stacie cut her leg. Thankfully, there weren't any mishaps this time. We let the kids each invite a friend. Trace brought Luca, Kianna brought Mia, Kaylee brought Olivia and I brought Trevor. We packed a lunch and had an amazing day on the water. The weather was perfect. We spent quite a bit of time at the sandbar, where we found a couple of star fish. Kaylee was especially excited to hold them. At the end of our time on the water, we happened upon a momma and baby manatee. The baby was so small. It was fun spotting them!

After we got cleaned up, we met Stacie, Patrick, Matthew and Shelli at U-Tiki for a summer birthday celebration. We had a nice meal and then headed back to our house for buster bar and a game of Peanuts. It was a great day!

Kianna's 17th Birthday

This year we celebrated a little differently as Kianna wanted to celebrate with her friends. She invited Jessica and Mia over for the night. They went bowling and then out to dinner at Sushi Yama. Kianna's on a major health kick, so she didn't want any dessert until we celebrated all the summer birthdays the next night. For that she chose buster bar. For her birthday, she wanted money for a Planet Fitness membership. Kianna loves to lift weights and has done an amazing job getting fit and losing weight. She has also given up dairy and has a pretty strict diet.

In addition to exercising, she enjoys spending time with her friends. Her closest friends are Jessica, Mia and Emma. She has become quite the social butterfly this summer. She also decided to play soccer again, after taking a year off. She rejoined the Rise FC 2006-2007 team. They only have two tournaments scheduled so I think it will be pretty low key. She has also been working at Bolay. She loves not being broke! Happy Birthday Nana Bear.

Kaylee's Wisdom Teeth Removal

Kaylee found out she needed to get all of her wisdom teeth removed as they were impacted. She decided to try to cram it in before leaving for college. Poor girl was so swollen. Otherwise, she did great, but man was her face swollen. Thankfully it returned to normal after about a week.
