Memorial Day Tournament

The girls both had a tournament in Orlando this weekend. Kianna's team ended up in 3rd place. They were 0-3. Kaylee's team ended up 4th out of 5 teams. They were 1-3. Kaylee's team played two teams from Puerto Rico, one of which were amazing. Kianna's team unfortunately has struggled to be competitive all season.

When not playing ball, we had a few great meals, a couple of which were at Disney Springs. We also watched the new Top Gun movie, "Maverick", which was so good! It was a long weekend with lots of basketball.

Country Concert

Stacie called me up this morning and asked if I would join her at the Miranda Lambert concert in West Palm tonight. I sure must love my sister because I said yes, despite not knowing one of her songs. I love spending time with my sister, so it was worth it!

Mother's Day

I think this may have been my favorite Mother's Day for a variety of reasons. Stacie surprised me yesterday with cookies from Crumbl and a dozen roses. It was the sweetest gift from my lovely sister.

The day started out with an 8:00 am soccer game for Trace and an 11:00 am soccer game for Kianna. Both teams lost, which meant they were both done for the day and this mama got to hang out by the pool. Yay!!! Kianna decided this was her last soccer game, so we witnessed her last soccer game today. She has mixed feelings about being done, but we all feel its the right decision for her. She'd like to focus on basketball going forward and possibly get a job this fall to meet her never ending "wants".

Anyway, we hung out by the pool, blasting my favorite Christian tunes. Trace got me flowers. Trevor surprised me with a beautiful card and mimosas. I napped in the hammock and woke up to "dinners ready". Kianna made me her gourmet burgers with camelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, toasted brioche buns, bacon and garlic aioli. They were delicious as always! Trace was in charge of Grandma Carie's cucumber salad and sweet potato fries. Kaylee made the yummiest turtle brownies from scratch. Everything was amazing! The evening ended with "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton" and "Life As We Know It". It was a terrific day with my favorite people, even though they are the very ones that drive me crazy...

Kevin and Bella's Visit

My nephew, Kevin and his wife, Bella drove down from New Smyrna Beach to spend part of the weekend with us. We've both lived in Florida for years, but hadn't connected yet and decided it was time to make it happen. Despite being cousins, they hadn't met our kids or if they did the kids were too young to remember. Trevor had only met Kevin once when he was about 12 years old and I hadn't seen them for seven years. Needless to say, we had a lot to catch up on. It was great getting to know them better and show them around Jupiter.

We took them out to breakfast at Berry Fresh Cafe, watched Trace's last lacrosse game, showed them Coral Cove, got wet in the Intracoastal and spent the afternoon at the beach. We took them to dinner at Blue Pointe Bar and Grill and watched Sing 2 before they headed home for the night. We had a nice visit and hope to see them again, sooner than later.
