Saying Goodbye to Friends

 

Kaylee really enjoyed her time at Vernon Middle School. By the end of the year, she had a solid group of friends. It stinks that she'll have to start over again in Florida, but we're thankful for a good school year.

Trace's Baptism

Trace decided to get baptized to make a public proclamation that he is a Christ follower. We had a nice group of family there to support him and his friend, Ellie. We're so proud of him!

Usher's Ferry Field Trip

 

I had the opportunity to go with Trace and his class to Usher's Ferry. The Usher's are actually distant relatives of Grandpa Carie, so it was fun to get to tour the village with Trace and his classmates.

Our Trip to Michigan

 

I signed up for a continuing education class in the Detroit area. Kaylee drove with me, so she could spend the weekend with her good friend, Amelia Grupp. She had a great time with Amelia and her family in Kalamazoo. 

My class was excellent by day and afterwards I commuted back to Adrian so I could spend time  with Karen Mattson and Rebekah Hildebrandt. It was great catching up with my friends and the quality time in the car with my girl was priceless.

Team Work

Trace enjoys science and got a new lab kit with his money. Kianna decided to help him. I love these precious moments, when they are being sweet to each other. 

Kianna's Band & Show Choir Concert

 

Kianna decided to join Show Choir this year and tonight was their performance. Kianna knew the routine well. She also had a band concert where she did an awesome job playing her clarinet, which she really enjoys. Grandma Becki, Grandma Sue and Grandpa Wayne came to support her.  

Youth Group Retreat

 

Kaylee and I went with the Oakland Church Youth Group on a retreat. I have been helping out with the youth group this year and really enjoying it. For the retreat, I helped out with small groups and planned the meals. Kaylee had a great time with her friends. I'm so thankful for our church and the truth being poured into our kids. 

Mother's Day

Shelli turned to look at me and her face went right into my boob as this picture was being taken. Awkward moment with lots of laughs. Best picture ever!

Track

 

Kaylee enjoyed participating in her first track season with Vernon Middle School. She ran the 200, 4 x 200 relay and long jump. It was a fun experience.

With rumors of a merger happening between Rockwell Collins and United Technologies some changes may be in store for our family. The company flew our family to Jupiter, FL so we could check out the area and meet with a realtor. It's a beautiful area right on the Atlantic Ocean. While there we took in some of the local attractions such as DuBois Park and Coral Cove where we went shelling. We also toured the Loggerhead Marine Life Center, which is a hospital for sea turtles. The kids signed up for a class where they learned about the different types of sea turtles that nest here. It was so fun learning about the sea turtles and seeing them up close. We saw an alligator and tortoise while in Florida. Jupiter is truly a beautiful place and we enjoyed our time there.
