South Haven

South Haven is our "happy place". We discovered it while living in Michigan. It was only 2.5 hours from Adrian and we couldn't afford a lot back then, so a drivable vacation spot was import. We have so many amazing memories there, so making it apart of our road trip seemed appropriate. Our time there was super chill. The weather wasn't the best and we had been go, go, go in Adrian, so we laid low. We enjoyed reading, shopping, walking along Lake Michigan, views of the lighthouse, nice meals and gorgeous sunsets. South Haven did not disappoint.

Road Trip to Michigan

Swiggum's Lake House

LCS- Kindergarten Class

Trace's class

Kianna's class

Kaylee's class

We decided to venture on a month long road trip. Normally Trevor isn't able to get that much time off work and really he still isn't. However, now that he's working virtually, he can work along the way and that's the plan. First stop, Knoxville, TN to see Jodi, Paul, Mila, Hannah and Dana. Our visit with them was short and sweet and we forgot to take pictures.

Then off to our old stomping grounds, Adrian, MI. We hadn't been back in five years. We stayed with Dawn and Darin Marsh, who are the best hosts ever! Dawn is so good with the kids. She setup a lemonade bar with fresh squeezed lemons, sugar water, mint, and fresh raspberries or strawberries. It was such a novelty. The kids loved it!

She also treated the girls and I to pedicures. She made us elephant ears. She was so good to us! They're big card players, so we loved playing cards with them each night.

During our two days there, we tried to cram in as much as we could. We toured LCS, visited with Rob Breckel, Peggy Thompson and a few others, found the kids pictures in the hallways and saw their Kindergarten classroom.

The kids and I connected with a few of the Marlatt's. We met at Spotted Cow and had ice cream with Jen, Ella, Ada, Aubrey and Abram. The boys were full of energy so we let them run around at Island park for a bit.

From there, we ended up having dinner with The Swiggum's; Aaron, Amanda, Lauren and Tory. They invited us out to their lake house, where we had a great time catching up, eating and boating.

The next day, I had breakfast with Karen Mattson. It was great catching up with her. From there, we packed up and headed for lunch with the Willet family at their lake house. Noah had just gotten a puppy, so we got some puppy love. Jon took the kids out on the boat tubing and let them ride jet skis. Our time in Adrian was so special. We are thankful God brought us there years ago and that we were able to meet so many amazing people, we call friends. Next stop, South Haven.

Double Date

We love having Stacie and Patrick here. We try to do a date night with them once or twice a month. We enjoy exploring new restaurants together. So glad they moved here!

Jupiter Jaguars

Kaylee's 10th Grade Team

Kianna's 8/9th Grade Team

Kianna decided that she really enjoyed playing basketball and wanted to give the travel team a try. JHS put together a group of 8/9th graders that are coached by the JHS JV coach, Coach Adair. Kianna is very green when it comes to basketball, but this will be a good experience for her.

Kaylee injured her ankle in the last game of the first tournament. She was able to walk on it right away, so she continued to play on it. Unfortunately, after playing on it for a few weeks it continued to be sore, so we got a second opinion. It turns out she tore her peroneal tendon and was put in a walking boot for three weeks. She missed the rest of the travel season unfortunately, but was a trooper. She continued to travel with the team to all their tournaments to show her support. She's a great kid!

We're hoping for great things as both girls transfer to JHS this fall and plan to play basketball.

Nelson's 20th Anniversary

We had the privilege of celebrating Brian and Kelly's 20th anniversary with them and their family and friends. It was a sweet night with our friends.
