We decided to venture on a month long road trip. Normally Trevor isn't able to get that much time off work and really he still isn't. However, now that he's working virtually, he can work along the way and that's the plan. First stop, Knoxville, TN to see Jodi, Paul, Mila, Hannah and Dana. Our visit with them was short and sweet and we forgot to take pictures.
Then off to our old stomping grounds, Adrian, MI. We hadn't been back in five years. We stayed with Dawn and Darin Marsh, who are the best hosts ever! Dawn is so good with the kids. She setup a lemonade bar with fresh squeezed lemons, sugar water, mint, and fresh raspberries or strawberries. It was such a novelty. The kids loved it!
She also treated the girls and I to pedicures. She made us elephant ears. She was so good to us! They're big card players, so we loved playing cards with them each night.
During our two days there, we tried to cram in as much as we could. We toured LCS, visited with Rob Breckel, Peggy Thompson and a few others, found the kids pictures in the hallways and saw their Kindergarten classroom.
The kids and I connected with a few of the Marlatt's. We met at Spotted Cow and had ice cream with Jen, Ella, Ada, Aubrey and Abram. The boys were full of energy so we let them run around at Island park for a bit.
From there, we ended up having dinner with The Swiggum's; Aaron, Amanda, Lauren and Tory. They invited us out to their lake house, where we had a great time catching up, eating and boating.
The next day, I had breakfast with Karen Mattson. It was great catching up with her. From there, we packed up and headed for lunch with the Willet family at their lake house. Noah had just gotten a puppy, so we got some puppy love. Jon took the kids out on the boat tubing and let them ride jet skis. Our time in Adrian was so special. We are thankful God brought us there years ago and that we were able to meet so many amazing people, we call friends. Next stop, South Haven.
