Best Chicken and Waffles EVER

We decided to celebrate Stacie's 50th birthday with a girls trip to Savannah. None of us had spent any time there and we had the best time exploring the city together. We rented a beautiful home in the historic district right on the river. We enjoyed watching the huge barges filled with semis float by. After getting settled in, we enjoyed a nice meal at an Italian restaurant. After dinner, we headed back to the house, where we gave Stacie her birthday book. It was filled with sweet notes, photos and stories from all of her closest friends and loved ones. 

One funny thing that happened was with our sleeping arrangements. Bree and I drew the short straw and ended up on the pull out sofa bed. I can sleep anywhere, but this was one of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept on. There was a bar underneath our backs. The following night we decided that Shelli and Stacie should take a turn on our bed. However, something crazy happened while getting their bed setup for the night. Stacie discovered that the sofa bed actually had an air mattress on top. Bree and I felt so foolish...

On Friday, we did the hop on and off trolley tour around town. Savannah is such a beautiful town. I love all the Spanish moss and parks. Forsythe park and the fountain are so pretty. We did some shopping and I ended up spraining my ankle on one of the many uneven sidewalks. 

On Saturday, we drove to Tybee Island where we had an awesome lunch and then went and saw the lighthouse. We also explored the Bonaventure Cemetery with a golf cart tour. It was very fascinating. We ended the night with a nice seafood dinner. 

On Sunday, we grabbed some breakfast before heading home. I love my mom and sisters so much and am so glad we enjoy spending time together. These girls weekends are the BEST!

Fun with Faby

 

Faby and Andrew invited Trevor and I over to join them for an evening of drinks and appetizers. I sure love my friend Faby.

Magic Kingdom with Teresa

I had the privilege of spending the weekend with my good friend, Teresa Mudrow. Her husband, Jeff, reached out to me a few months earlier and asked it I could join Teresa on a Disney girls weekend in honor of her birthday. I'm always up for a girls weekend and this one didn't disappoint. Jeff made us reservations on Friday night at the House of Blues where we had an awesome dinner. The following day, we spent the day at Magic Kingdom. I surprised Teresa with matching t-shirts, ears and masks. We had a great time and took pictures wherever we could. Fun times! 

Paddle Boarding with Stacie

 

Stacie and I spent the morning paddle boarding. We ate at Blue Pointe for lunch and then paddle boarded back to our car. It was a lovely day with my sister.

Mother's Day

 

Trace spoiled me with breakfast in bed and the girls made me my favorite cake, chocolate chip banana bread cake with peanut butter frosting. Yummy! I'm blessed to be the mom to these three.

Spring Formal

 

Kianna went to the JCS Spring Formal with two friends, Courtney and Ashley. A group of girls went out for dinner before the dance, for some extra fun. Kaylee and I joined from a distance. It was a middle school dance and she had fun getting all dressed up and spending the evening with her friends.
