Saying Goodbye to the Wenzel's

Sally surprised me a week and a half ago with news that they are moving to western Tennessee at the end of the month. They decided to move a little closer to family and found a great house on 223 acres of land. Sally is a farm girl at heart and is excited to no longer have neighbors. Their new property has a huge lake and lots of woods and trails to explore.

After being quarantined for two months, the kids and I made our first road trip across the state to visit Sally and her kids before they move. We got in our car at our house and got out at their house, stayed two nights and drove back home with no stops along the way. Good thing Trevor wasn't with us, he'd have had to stop for sure. We tease him about his bunny bladder. He stayed home to get some work done and watch the dogs.

Sally and Ryan built an amazing resort style pool over the last couple of years and our kids have been anxious to swim in it. It has two water slides, one that is super fast and the other that is slower. They have a climbing wall and a 10 ft cliff to jump off. The kids created an obstacle course. We timed ourselves and each went through the course twice. Even Sally and I participated. We had a blast with lots of laughs.

Trace fell in love with their dog, Weber. Honestly, I think the feelings were mutual. Weber loves to play fetch and Trace provided him with endless entertainment. So much so, that Weber rewarded Trace by sleeping with him that night. It was a dream come true, as our dogs prefer to sleep with Trevor and I.

We had a perfect weekend with our dear friends. They are excited about this new adventure and we are happy for them, but will miss having them nearby.
