This year we spent Thanksgiving with our good friends, Ryan, Jamie, Lexie and Natalie Johnson; and Jamie's parents who were visiting from Iowa. We ate lots of yummy food and we adults played a card game called Hand and Foot. Our kids had each been learning about the pilgrims and the first thanksgiving at school. Kianna especially was very interested in the pilgrims and put together a Thanksgiving skit. Her teacher, Mrs. Banks let her borrow a pilgrim costume. Kianna was so proud of her costume. It was precious! The Thanksgiving Skit was a little bit rough around the edges, but entertaining nonetheless. It was a very fun day with friends.
The following day we took the kids to see the new Disney movie, "Frozen", which was very entertaining. We will definitely be purchasing that movie when it is released. We LOVED it! Following the movie, we met the Johnson's at The Centre pool and let the kids swim for awhile. Can we say SPOILED!
On Saturday, we got our Christmas decorations up. The kids were really excited to help this year. Kaylee especially loved hearing the stories behind each ornament. It went pretty well. We only had one wise men lose his head, but it wasn't anything a little super glue couldn't fix. That evening, we went out to dinner at The Dog House, a hot dog restaurant. They have about every potential hot dog combination you could think of. Two of the kids had macaroni and cheese hot dogs, the other one had a cheesy potato hot dog, I had a reuben hot dog, and Trevor had a four alarm hot dog. It was a fun place. We had a lot of good family time this weekend and really enjoyed our time together. We are truly blessed and have so much to be thankful for. Here are a few things I am thankful for:
- Trevor- I have a wonderful husband, who is very supportive. He helps me remember to lighten up and laugh. He is a good balance for me, as he tends to me more lighthearted and I tend to be a bit more serious. I love him very much and we have fun together.
- Kaylee- She is a very smart little girl. She is very thoughtful and responsible. You tell her something one time and she remembers it. I love that about her! She likes to play games and cuddle up and watch Hallmark movies with me.
- Kianna- She is very fun loving and generous. She is wonderful to her little brother. They have a good relationship. She is very lighthearted and sensitive. She loves to have fun. She is very smart and really likes math. We have fun doing her math magazines together and cuddling on the couch.
- Trace- He is a bundle of energy inside a little body. He is all boy and likes to run nearly everywhere he goes. He loves to rough house with Daddy. He is often seen tackling big kids in the hallway at school while on his way to pick up his sisters. He loves to laugh and have fun. We have fun playing games, doing puzzles and reading books together.
- Warm Cozy House- So thankful for our furnace on this cold winter day.
- Health- We are all in good health, which is a HUGE blessing. We enjoy keeping active and exercising.
- My new job- I have really enjoyed building relationships with my co-workers and patients. I have learned so much and am becoming a better, more confident therapist.
- Freedom to worship as I choose- Something that I take for granted here in America, but something that people are being persecuted for around the world.
- Grace, Salvation, and Forgiveness- I am blessed with a savior that loves me and made the ultimate sacrifice so that I could spend eternity with him. I need his grace and forgiveness everyday and am so thankful that his love never runs out on me or those around me.
- My kids love Jesus- This has been my ultimate goal as their mom and so far they are all on the right track to serving and loving Jesus. Praise God!
- Good friends and family- We are truly blessed to be surrounded by people that love us both here and in Iowa.
It is good to reflect and have a grateful heart. Thank you Jesus for all my blessings, which include these and so much more!
