Family Cruise

 Day 1: Miami to Sea

We got on the cruise ship in Miami around noon. We were hungry so immediately went and ate lunch at one of the restaurants. We were all excited to order whatever we wanted from the menu. We had access to unlimited appetizers, dessert and beverages. Not good for the waistline but fun nonetheless.

After lunch we got settled in our rooms, which were located on the 10th floor. The adults had rooms with balconies and the kids had rooms across the hall. Kaylee and Kianna shared a room. Bryker and Trace shared a room. Grandma Becki and Bruxen shared a room. Sam and Mike shared a room. Trevor and I shared a room.

After we got settled, the kids explored the ship. We let the kids run around the ship, as long as they stayed in pairs. They enjoyed the waterslides, ropes course, pool, virgin Pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris. They found some ice cream and by the end of the day had ice cream four times.

We ate our dinner together and watched a magician. Afterwards, we checked the kids into the Teens Only Lounge where they had a blast playing and meeting other kids on the ship. The girls each made a couple girl friends that they exchanged numbers with.

Day 2: Day at Sea

Today we spent the day at sea. The pools on the ship are super crowded, so not the most appealing. However, we discovered a more secluded adults only area called Spice H20. Sam, Mike, Trevor and I loved hanging out there. It has two hot tubs and a shallow waterfall sitting area to cool off.

Trevor, Becki and I enjoyed the Speed Trivia game. I snuck Trevor's name into the dish and to his surprise his name was called. Trevor did a nice job and then my name was called too. Unfortunately, I missed an easy question about how many letters are in the alphabet. I said 27 and got made fun of by my lovely family the rest of the cruise.

Day 3: Roatan, Honduras

Today was a great day. We had our first day at a port. We got off the ship and took a snorkeling tour. We had a nice drive to the beach where we spent the day. Honduras is part of the second largest coral reef  in the world and the snorkeling was top notch. It was the Langfald's first time snorkeling and they all did great. We had a nice meal on the beach and then spent the day relaxing. I even got a massage. I'm getting used to these beach massages. After we got back on the ship, we had dinner at a Brazilian barbecue. Mike was in meat heaven. It was amazing!

Day 4: Belize

Trevor and I took all the kids on a Monkey River Tour excursion in Belize. The boat ride was fun, but unfortunately we didn't really see any wildlife that we don't see regularly in Florida. We saw some cool birds, some iguanas and a crocodile. We took a hike through the rainforest to see some monkeys, but they were so far in the distance and didn't move or make any noise that it was pretty unremarkable. The mosquitos were bad and it was super hot, so the kids, especially Kianna didn't enjoy the hike.

Once back on land, the kids decided to get henna tattoos, which were pretty cool.

Once back on the ship, we relaxed and then Kianna, Grandma Becki and I ended the might with a show called Burn the Floor. It reminded us of Dancing with the Stars. There were a lot of really great dancers.

Day 5: Costa Maya, Mexico

Our family took an excursion to the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins, which we all really enjoyed. I was expecting just one temple, but there was a whole village and still quite a few mounds that have yet to be excavated. The excavations began in 2002, so they are still underway. We were able to climb to the top. The temples to built as burial grounds and places to make sacrifices to their gods.

Once back on the ship, we reunited with the rest of our crew and cooled off in the pool and ate good food. The usual.

Day 6: Cozumel

We decided not to do an excursion today, but did get off the ship to do some shopping. Trace and Aunt Sam decided to get henna tattoos. We also got dressed up and took some family photos before dinner. Mike and Trevor had fun in the Ice Bar.

Day 7: Day at Sea

Today was the usual, good food, time by the pool and celebrating Bruxen's 10th birthday with Deal or No Deal and yummy dessert. We ended the night with the broadway show, "Six" about the wives of Henry XIII. It was entertaining. Next stop Miami and then home. This cruise was so much fun! Thanks Grandma Becki for making it all possible. So many fun memories!!!
