Trace and I had some one-on-one time at Shark Wake Park in West Palm. It was our first time there and was quite the unique experience. We did the wakeboarding cable experience, which meant that instead of having a boat pull us around the lake there was a cable that connected to the handlebar we were holding. It pulled us up and potentially around the lake. Trace and I both got up on our feet quickly, but struggled to make the turn around the corner. Trace made the turn once, but I failed repeatedly. It was really challenging to make the turn as the cable would slow down and then pull you really fast all of a sudden. The change of speed made us face plant, me more than Trace. In fact, I believe I had a concussion from my final fall despite my helmet. I opened my eyes and saw bright white spots in the middle of everything, similar to what I imagine macular degeneration being. I also couldn't see the left side of everything. Thankfully my vision returned within 20-30 minutes.
While I was recovering, Trace went on the obstacle courses which he said was a lot of fun. On the drive home, my bottom lip went numb for a few minutes, which also was concerning. I debated going to the ER as I continued to be nauseous the rest of the night, but thankfully my other symptoms resolved. Despite the concussion, I enjoyed some much needed time with Trace. He's a great kid and I love him dearly. Trevor says I'm not as young as I think I am anymore, getting older stinks!
