Trace went pee pee in the potty...
Trace has woken up the past four mornings with his diaper so wet that his PJs and bedding have been soaked too. A couple days ago, I tried a larger size diaper but that didn't make a difference either. As much as I enjoy doing laundry, I decided that something needed to change. This morning I went in the basement searching for the box containing the potty chairs. I found it and had it waiting for Trace when he once again woke up soaked this morning. On his way to the bathtub I decided to have him sit on it with one of his books. By the time the bath water was ready, he had already gone pee pee in his little potty. It was so exciting!!! We of course made a HUGE deal about it. We clapped, did a "pee pee in the potty" dance, showed his sisters and Daddy, gave high fives, and even gave him a M & M (I think this was his favorite way to celebrate). Oh what an exciting way to start the day. Way to go Trace!!!

A Day at the Zoo
Kianna, Trace, and I spent the morning at the zoo with some new friends from church. It was really fun seeing Trace get so excited about the animals. The last time we went to the zoo was four months ago and he wasn't into animals at that point. However, this time he was pointing at them and really enjoying them in general. Kianna had fun getting her face painted. What a fun way to spend our day!

Kianna's 1st Day of Pre-K
Kianna was super excited to start school today. She already knew both of her teachers from Kaylee having them in the Spring. Plus, four of her friends are in her class, so she was glad to see them this morning. Kianna happily reported that she made another new friend today. What a great first day!

Kaylee's 1st Day of Kindergarten
Kaylee had a great time at school today. She was excited that she already knew quite a few of the kids from her pre-K class this past Spring. Kaylee thinks that both of her teachers are really nice. Her only complaint was that she only had a half-day of school. She is ready for five full days!

Labor Day Weekend
Grandma Sue and Grandpa Wayne came to visit us this weekend. It was a pretty low key weekend spent enjoying our company and the cooler weather. Kaylee was excited to show them how she can ride her bike without training wheels, so that was one of the first things we did. We also watched the Hawkeye's beat Eastern Illinois on Saturday. Ironically, after living in Michigan for 6 months, I finally found something that Trevor is having trouble adjusting to. He has had Hawkeye football season tickets for ~13 years and now living 8 hours away that is no longer possible. During the game, he was sending texts and pictures back and forth to his buddies who were at the game. I felt bad for him. I have struggled at times with leaving our family, friends, house, and church behind and although he has missed those things as well this is the first time I saw him visibly bummed. The differences between men and women never cease to amaze me.
