Manatee Lagoon and Flagler Museum

We had another excellent day touring the Flagler Museum and the Manatee Lagoon. The day was nice and chilly, perfect for seeing lots of manatees. I love having them here! I waited three years for this!!!

Loggerhead Marinelife Center

I had the privilege of spending the day with my Dad and Sue and showing them around Jupiter. They loved Loggerhead, even though there weren't any live sea turtles there. We also got to walk the beach, which we all thoroughly enjoyed.

Trace's 13th Birthday

My baby boy is 13, which is hard to believe and now we have THREE teenagers in the house. Trace is a great kid with a fun personality. He loves to make people laugh especially with poop jokes and one liners. Trace's favorite class is PE. He loves all sports, but especially soccer and football. He asked for lacrosse stuff for his birthday so he can give the sport a try this Spring. He also has been playing basketball a lot at school, so is considering giving it a try again. In addition to sports, Trace loves playing his video games. He saved his Christmas money and bought himself an X-box recently. He is a great saver.

Trace is doing great in school this year. His best friends are Michael Lapowsky and Mason, from his soccer team. He celebrated his birthday with a paintball party. He invited Dean, Cal, Mason and Michael. Kaylee and I joined in the fun, but I only lasted 5 minutes before deciding I had enough fun. Those paintballs hurt! The boys and Kaylee all had a great time. The night ended with a sleepover.

We love our Tracer, but he's not so little anymore. He's very proud of his growing patch of armpit hair and will show them to anyone interested or not. He's also had a major growth spurt this year and started shaving his little mustache. My baby is growing up...

Trace's Soccer Tournament

Look who met us over in Sarasota for Trace's soccer tournament, Grandma Sue and Grandpa Wayne!!! We are so excited to have them here with us in Florida for three whole weeks! The tournament wasn't a great success, but we enjoyed our time together. We got a kick out of them insisting on climbing the fence each time, instead of taking the long way around the fence. They are still young at heart!! Trace reported that he made a new BFF, Mason, who recently joined Rise FC.

Squash

One of our neighbors, was rehoming their bearded dragon, Draco and Kianna decided to adopt him. He's a little on the plump side, so she renamed him, Squash. Unfortunately, Rex and Squash are not big fans of each other. In fact, they went crazy when they saw each other. Their beards turned black and they both tried to claw their way out of their cages. It was quite entertaining. We had to rearrange their cages so they don't see each other. Just call Kianna the crazy lizard lady.

Omicron

Unfortunately, Trevor became symptomatic and tested positive for COVID the day after the Citrus Bowl. Thankfully, the kids and all the Citrus Bowl companions remained negative except for Holly and Dave, who later tested positive. However, Trevor reported that he wasn't in close proximity to them, so they probably picked it up elsewhere. Trevor had mild symptoms and joined me in quarantine for about five days. The kids took turns feeding us and did a great job!

Citrus Bowl: Iowa vs Kentucky

Despite, me being sick with Covid, the rest of my crew has been asymptomatic and Trevor actually tested negative. The CDC changed the regulations indicating that the fully vaccinated don't have to quarantine, but should mask up. After talking to Stacie, Patrick and Shelli, Trevor decided to that he, Kaylee and Trace (he took my ticket) would go to Orlando for the Citrus Bowl. They went up on the 31st and had a fun day watching football bowl games and having a nice dinner with Stacie and Patrick, Shelli and her friend Bob, and Holly and Dave Rasmussen.

The Citrus Bowl was on the 1st and they had a fun day tailgating before the game and a great time at the game despite the Hawks losing in the last couple of minutes, 17-20. I'm glad they were able to go to the game and enjoy themselves.
