Naples Tournament

Kianna's Rise FC soccer team played against tough competition this weekend in Naples. Unfortunately, they didn't come away with any "W's" but they did improve their scores again the teams they had played previously. Kianna and I spent the weekend with Sally and her family, which is always fun.

Aunt Stacie's back

Aunt Stacie decided to drive to Florida so she could bring Miles with her. Our house was a little crazy with three dogs, especially trying to walk them all. They all decided to sample each others food and that they liked the other food better than their own. Bella became obsessed with Miles, which gave Rizzo a break from her. Fun times!

Trace's 11th Birthday

It is hard to believe our little guy is 11. Here are some things about him:

  • Loves Sports- Trace likes all sports, but especially enjoys soccer and football. He played on the intramural flag football team at school this fall and enjoyed every time he touched the ball, which he wished would have been more. He plays soccer for Rise FC and is a very competitive athlete. He is a good leader on his team as well.
  • Video Games-   He loves playing Fortnite. He has headphones he puts on and is able to play with his friends across town or cousins in Iowa. He loves the game and wants to spend all his free time playing and watching videos about how to improve at the game. He also loves to spend his money on skins, which I believe are new outfits for the characters to wear.
  • Dogs- He adores Bella and Rizzo and loves to squeeze them and put his mouth on them, no matter how many times we ask him not too.
  • Friends- His closet friend is Michael Lopasky from his soccer team. His favorite neighborhood friends are Caden O'Brien and Colin Butters. His favorite school friends are Caleb Carley and Jeremy Barios. He also plays Fortnite with his cousin, Bruxen a lot.
  • 5th Grade- Teacher is Mrs. Carley. Favorite subjects are Science and Math. He likes to build STEM projects, although he doesn't spent much of his free time doing it. He does not enjoy reading much, but has read the first three Harry Potter books. His favorite part of his school day are lunch, recess and gym. He's all boy!
  • Sense of Humor- Trace loves to make people laugh and especially loves potty humor. He is developing some of his dad's sense of humor. He used some of his birthday money to purchase a toilet game and a poop card game. He also loves to hide and jump out to surprise people.
  • Thumb- Trace finally stopped sucking his thumb this year! Now he bites his nails exceptionally low instead. Ouch!
  • Jesus- Trace misses Pastor Tory in Iowa and is excited to join the youth group here this fall. He does his own devotions every night before bed. He has a good heart. He loves to help others, especially opening doors for Grandma GG when she's around. He's a sweet boy!
We celebrated Trace's birthday as a family before he left for Naples, so he could open his gifts. The main one being a Fitbit watch. He had been asking for one for the last year and was so excited as it was a complete surprise. Kaylee made him his favorite cake.

Trevor and Trace spent the weekend in Naples, at his soccer tournament. Trace was able to celebrate with his team at the hotel between games. We also plan on giving him a friend party in a couple weeks once we have a free weekend. Happy Birthday Tracer!!!!

Mom's Visit

My mom came to visit for the week and we had a great time together. She enjoyed watching Kaylee's basketball games. We even went on a five mile bike ride around our neighborhood, which was fun! The highlight though was our brunch at The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach. It is a gorgeous hotel built by Henry Flagler in the late 1890's. It was the destination of many socialites overt the years including Andrew Carnegie, J.P. Morgan, and the Rockefellers. We treated ourselves to the yummy brunch at The Circle Restaurant inside the hotel. We had to dress in resort attired for the special occasion. Following our brunch we toured the hotel and its grounds. It was a great day with my mom!

Kianna's JCS MS Soccer team played vs Benjamin School today. Kianna was paired up against Tiger Woods' daughter. Trevor managed to get a selfie with Tiger. I was at Kaylee's volleyball game, so missed him...
